Photographing Aeshna isoceles – Once Again

This weekend I was once again out in the nice summer weather photographing Aeshna isoceles.

It’s a waiting game photographing this dragonfly as it spends most of the time flying around hunting for insects and chasing off other dragonflies. I have figured out that the best approach is to find a good spot at the lake and simply wait for one to perch in the vegetation, and then sneak in on it and hope it sits tight long enough to get some good shots.

So, I ended up spending hours waiting at the lake side but it paid off and several new photos have been added to the gallery.
