About
The slender, all-blue males skim swiftly over the water and rest on floating perches, far from the banks. Has broad antehumeral stripes and a terminal-shifted ‘blue tail’.
Size
Total: 30-36 mm.
Abdomen: 24-28 mm.
Hindwing: 19-21 mm.
Habitat
Larger, well-oxygenated waters, including lakes, gravel pits, slow-flowing rivers and wide canals, with rich aquatic vegetation.
Flight Season
From March to October in the north, bu mainly in July and August in the north.
Range and Status
Not yet registered in Denmark.
